The Hotel Bernina was built in 1900 and has been more than just accommodation ever since. It is a house full of stories and memories. Families return again and again for generations, couples spend their first weekend in the mountains here, hikers and bikers stop off on their way through. Every guest has their own reason for being here and leaves their mark.
Mathias Schmid is the third generation to run the Hotel Bernina with his family and a team that sticks together like a big family. What counts here is personal contact, honest conversation and attentive service. Hospitality as practiced by our grandparents and as we proudly carry on today.
Our hotel proudly bears the name of Piz Bernina, the highest peak in the Eastern Alps and the only four-thousand-meter peak in Graubünden. This imposing mountain embodies everything that makes our region special. Strength, stability and a deep connection to the Engadin mountains. We bear this name with pride and continue to write its history.
The Swiss stone pine, also known as Arolla pine, is the soul of the Engadin. Its warm, spicy scent and natural presence have characterized the region for centuries. At the Hotel Bernina, you will encounter this special wood everywhere. In the rooms, in the lobby, in loving details. It creates an atmosphere of peace and security that is typical of the Alpine way of life.

The room prices are per room and night including breakfast. The exact prices vary depending on the room category and season. Please contact us for an individual offer or book directly online.
In addition, a visitor’s tax of CHF 3.10.- per person per day is payable.
Yes, our rich breakfast buffet is included in the room rate for all hotel guests. Start your day with regional products, fresh pastries and Grisons specialties.
Check-in: Your rooms are ready for occupancy from 14:00. If you arrive after 21:00, please let us know in advance.
Check-out: We ask you to leave your room by 11:00 am.
Yes, we have an underground parking garage where you can park your car for CHF 15.- per night. Please register in advance to reserve a parking space.
Outdoor parking spaces are not available.
Yes, dogs are welcome on request. Please let us know when you book that you will be traveling with your dog.

Yes, the Hotel Bernina is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is only permitted outdoors.
Yes, we offer a ski room for your equipment, where you can store your skis, snowboard and boots.
Bikes can be parked and cleaned directly in our garage.

In summer (from 2 nights): Yes, you enjoy free use of public transport throughout the Upper Engadine and all mountain railroads. Mountain air and summer feeling included!
In winter: Public transport is also included in winter for stays of 2 nights or more. We offer an attractive special ski pass deal for the mountain railways (details in the next question).
Yes! In winter we offer you a ski pass for only CHF 47.- per day and person.
